Senior AutoCAD Designer – Civil Engineering – Land Development
Austin, Texas
Gray Engineering, Inc. (GEI) is seeking a highly motivated Senior AutoCAD Civil 3D Designer to join our Austin, Texas office.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Strong technical proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare construction plans
- Understanding of civil engineering principles, terminology and design standards
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive responsibility in land development project design
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead CAD design efforts for a variety of projects, including land and site development and public infrastructure improvements
- Supervise and train design technician and EIT staff in the use of Civil 3D
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed drawings for civil engineering projects including street, drainage, water, wastewater, grading, site layouts and utility plans
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements, regulatory standards and client expectations
- Assist in the preparation of permit applications and construction bid packages
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with the GEI standards manual
- Conduct quality control checks to verify completeness and accuracy
- Work with supervisors and other design staff to continually improve and implement processes that ensure consistent, high-quality project delivery
- Familiarize yourself and stay informed of industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies to contribute innovative solutions to project challenges.

Engineer in Training (EIT) – Civil Engineering – Land Development

Gray Engineering, Inc. (GEI) is seeking a highly motivated Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Austin, Texas office.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution
- EIT certification, or the ability to obtain, within 6 months
- Strong technical proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with team members
- Commitment to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience or internships in civil engineering is desirable but not required
Key Responsibilities:
