David Gray, P.E.
David Gray has served as a trusted adviser and Professional Engineer for countless developments and has been in private practice since the late 1970s. He formed what is now Gray Engineering in 1989.
Since graduating from the University of Texas, David has accumulated more than three decades of real-world experience as a leader in project due diligence, design, permit processing and construction oversight. He is trusted as an honest broker and diligent professional by project owners, city and county review staff, elected officials, neighborhood associations and municipal utility districts.
Prior to going into private practice, David laid the foundation for a successful career by working at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in the Water District section, where he became familiar with all aspects of utility districts.
David remains very active in all aspects of Gray Engineering and is especially excited about mentoring and encouraging the next generation of creative thinkers in Central Texas. Outside of work, he enjoys ranching and automobile events with his family and friends.
Will Wheeler, P.E.
Will Wheeler has more than four decades of experience as a land development, transportation and environmental infrastructure strategist. During his 10 years in Central Texas, Will has provided executive leadership over many of the areas most recognizable land development projects. Will brings a hands on approach as Principal of Gray Engineering.
Born from a family of engineers and scientists, Will is also a skilled communicator and in high-demand among prominent developers to assist in site acquisition, entitlement, pre-development and portfolio management processes. He also eagerly mentors employees and is a champion for enabling young achievers to advance their careers.
Will is a founding Board Member of the Downtown Austin Transportation Management Association (Movability), a past Board Member of The Hill Country Conservancy and is an active member in a variety of professional organizations, including the Urban Land Institute and the Real Estate Council of Austin.
Married for more than 35 years to his college sweetheart, Will enjoys international traveling, auto and motorcycle racing and catching up with their two daughters.
Herb Edmonson, Jr.
Herb Edmonson, Jr. has over thirty years in the engineering industry with experience ranging from street and utility construction, capital improvement projects, infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, including water storage tanks, SCADA systems, reverse osmosis treatment to water and wastewater plant operations.
Herb joined Gray Engineering, Inc. in 1994 as a field representative and has since become an associate and project manager for the firm. Client confidence in Herb has been earned by representing the firm in varied areas including preparation of bid documents, contract negotiations, construction oversight and interaction with numerous Municipal Utility Districts, developers, city, county and state personnel.
Over the years Herb has remained connected to the community through various organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, Balcones Youth Sports, American Bowling Association, Cast for Kids and Coastal Recovery Hurricane Relief.
